Every great home begins with a solid plan on a building site that is appropriate. Whether you have a plan, need modifications to an existing plan or have a concept, we can work with you. We can introduce you to several home designers and architects in our area and you get to make the decision. We make this stage fun and easy by using advanced collaboration tools and architectural software to provide clear communication throughout the planning stage.

Allow us to share our experience by assessing the positive and negative aspects of the potential homesite as it relates to the construction of your new home. There are many factors to be considered when searching for a homesite. Size of the site, topography, wetland studies, flood plane requirements, soil conditions and subdivision requirements are just a few of the characteristics that must be considered. We will also inform you of clearing requirements due to topography or site conditions that need to be improved prior to building so there are no surprises.

Once the planning stage is complete, we provide a comprehensive budget outlining the materials, design allowances, layouts and specifications. We provide the highest level of specificity to eliminate gray areas or potential miscommunication.

We accompany you to each showroom to make interior and exterior selections. Each selection is recorded with photographs and a comprehensive PDF guide. When the selections are final, we post them to your online software portal for easy access. We help bring your sense of style to life with immaculate attention to detail and a designer's finishing touches, making your new home everything you imagined. We track your credits and debits versus the original contract along the way, so you are always in the loop regarding the budget, making it easier for you to make informed decisions.

Our award-winning TEAM breaks ground and begins building your new home. While the delivery timeframe depends on the home’s design and specifications, we ensure you're always “in-the-know” with our construction software that offers detailed schedules through completion, daily updates at 6:00 AM and weekly progress photos. Once framing is complete, we walk through the home with you and our trade partners. This allows us to answer questions that sometimes can't be realized until the space is walkable. We review tile patterns, shower head heights, outlet placement and more. We want you as involved as possible so that you enjoy the home-building experience.

We deliver the highest quality home for you and your family by maintaining the highest standards, hiring the best trade partners and conducting daily reviews on all work. Our Quality Assurance Program goes above and beyond with over 1000 check points during construction. To ensure your home is as close to perfect as possible, we hire a home inspector AND will pay an independent home inspector of your choice to conduct a thorough inspection and provide you with the full report. This ensures the highest quality home and peace of mind.

The New Home Orientation is our chance to demonstrate all aspects of the home so you understand how to operate, enjoy and maintain your home. We walk through each room with you reviewing every appliance, fixture and detail. Should you have any concerns, we will address and resolve them before your move-in date.

Our policy and obsession is COMPLETE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION.

Mark Johnson Custom Homes provides a one-year Builder Warranty for your new home. During the 11th month, we return to touch up any settling areas in the drywall and trim as well as to address any other warranty concerns that may occur. Our BLITZ program is designed to complete your warranty in 2 days. Our commitment to you does not end at the closing table!
